Pumas & Penguins
A Patagonian Photographic Journey

DESCRIPTION:
Discover the wonders that captivated Darwin on his Patagonian sojourn: dramatic, pristine, and studded with waterfalls, rivers, jagged peaks, and lakes. Explore the hidden corners of unique Chiloe Island, wet and windswept, with lush hills and a heavy early morning fog. Chiloe is home to a fiercely independent, seafaring people with a distinctive mythology of witchcraft, ghost ships, and forest gnomes. Visit their villages, market, and traditional wooden churches and stilted homes. By boat visit colonies of Humboldt and Magellan penguins and taste oysters paired with wine on a beach. Continue south to spectacular Torres del Paine National Park, the “the 8th Wonder of the World,” amid snow-capped mountain peaks, cascading rivers and waterfalls, glaciers and mirrored lakes. Track Patagonia's most elusive animals, especially the enigmatic Andean puma (mountain lion). Photograph the park’s geology and native flora and fauna, visiting places in ideal light with a photo and wildlife professional. Few other places in the world provide such great isolation, with waters and land teeming with wildlife.
