An Old-World European Journey
The Sea & Sardinia

DESCRIPTION:
Closer to Africa than Italy, Sardinia feels relaxed and unspoiled, like Europe of yesteryear, and has preserved its peculiar history and culture. Discover stark granite headlands, white sandy beaches, romantic bays, a pastoral quilt of forested mountain peaks, valleys of citrus groves, and pastures dotted with grazing cattle and sheep. The coast is breathtaking with its turquoise sea and the interior is where traditional culture thrives and elderly women are still draped in black.
Most unique to Sardinia are the 7,000 nuraghi, truncated conical stone towers constructed 3,000 years ago during the Bronze Age, whose usage remains a mysterious example of ancient human settlement. Nuragic people, Phoenicians, and then Romans left their marks on Sardinian architecture and culture. The Phoenicians gave birth to the first Sardinian cities, the Romans provided roads, amphitheaters, and more cities, and the Pisans steeped it with romantic architecture.
Cycle and hike, stay in charming hotels, enjoy the best food and wine Sardinia offers, and experience a spectacular variety of land and sea, archaeological and cultural experiences. Hikes and cycling are easy/beginner and can be optional.
CONSIDER:
This trip can offer more or less exercise as desired and is ideal for families.
OPTIONAL EXTENSIONS & ADD-ONS:
